Now in the Art Institute of Chicago (accession 2024.429), this sterling silver necklace dates to roughly 1940–48. Its presence in a public museum collection fixes it as a documented example of Hector Aguilar's silver from the period rather than a piece in private circulation.
Aguilar worked in Taxco, where he founded the Taller Borda. Silver of this period from his shop is held in relatively few public hands, and a piece like this reaches the market only occasionally.
