A sterling dish belongs to the tableware Hector Aguilar produced at the Taller Borda, the Taxco workshop he founded after managing William Spratling's silver operation. Alongside his jewelry and pitchers, serving pieces in sterling formed a working part of the workshop's output, designed for use as much as display.
Worked in silver during the Taller Borda's active period of 1939 to 1962, the dish reflects the clean, unfussy handling that ran through Aguilar's production.
