Built from linked silver elements set with turquoise, this bracelet shows the Matl workshop carrying its stone-and-silver manner into an articulated, link-by-link form. The reliance on inlaid color over plain metal grew from Matilde Poulat's post-Revolution embrace of a Mexican aesthetic drawn from Pre-Conquest and pueblo sources (Morrill, p. 216).
The turquoise reflects the taller's hand craft, where Ricardo Salas perfected the carving and setting of turquoise, coral, and other stones for the firm's jewelry (Morrill, p. 216).
