A round azur malachite center stone anchors this cuff, flanked by alternating silver and azur malachite crescents that curve away from it on either side, so the band reads as a measured sequence of stone and metal arcs. The repeating crescent is the design's organizing unit, and the central cabochon gives it a clear focal point.
From the First Design Period, 1931 to 1946, the cuff pairs the cool blue-green stone with silver in the controlled, rhythmic manner characteristic of Spratling's gem-set work. It is recorded in Morrill's Maestros de Plata.
Worked in 980 silver under the joined "WS" mark (Morrill, p. 39), the bracelet rests on its early date, confirmation of the malachite, the integrity of the crescents, and a period hallmark.
