A sterling silver necklace held in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago (accession 2024.428), this piece dates to roughly 1940–50. Its place in a public museum collection makes it a documented example of Hector Aguilar's silver from that decade rather than an object circulating on the open market.
Aguilar worked in Taxco, where he established the Taller Borda. Silver of this period from his shop survives in limited numbers, and a piece secured in a public institution comes to the market only occasionally.
