The Pelican Brooch gives Héctor Aguilar's animal vocabulary a heavier, more sculptural presence. The long bill, rounded body, and compact feet identify the bird with only a few decisive forms, while the silver surface supplies the visual weight that makes the brooch feel grounded rather than delicate.

Aguilar's Taller Borda often found its strength in this kind of reduction. The pelican is not treated as a detailed study from nature, but as a sequence of broad planes and curves that can survive at jewelry scale. The result is a figural brooch that shows how the workshop turned animal imagery into clear, modern silver design.
