Curling, scrolling line was part of Margot de Taxco's own design vocabulary, drawn, as Morrill records, from sources as varied as the carved facade of Taxco's Sta. Prisca and Parisian Art Nouveau jewelry (Morrill, p. 168). A scroll bracelet translates that taste for dramatically modeled, curving forms into linked panels of enamel on sterling.
The champlevé enamel-on-silver method behind such a piece was initiated at Los Castillo and perfected by Margot into one of her principal lines (Morrill, p. 166). She designed every piece her company made and worked from a written book specifying the dies, color choices, and assembly for each design, her drawings guiding the enamelers directly (Morrill, p. 168).
The Scroll bracelet's clean enamel work reflects the meticulous production Margot demanded of everything that carried her name.
