A fish worked in silver and set with turquoise gives this bracelet its subject, drawing on the natural imagery that ran through Matl design. Matilde Poulat's motifs, the dove and flowers among them, were reminiscent of the whimsical subjects of contemporary Mexican folk art, and a fish belongs to that same vocabulary of small living things (Morrill, p. 216).
