Curatorial note

Classic rectangular silver links, which Spratling described in his own catalog as "heavy forged moulding, all silver," give this bracelet a weighty, architectural simplicity. It is recorded in Sandraline Cederwall and Hal Riney's Spratling Silver and dates to the third design period, with wholesale catalog prices running from $10.08 in 1958-59 to $14.80 in the 1967 catalog.

The span of catalog prices documents a design that stayed in production across nearly a decade, a staple of the later workshop's standardized line rather than a one-off. The heavy forged links depend on weight and clean geometry for their effect, with no applied ornament.

The design has since been reissued, so correct marks and dating matter for collectors. A vintage example of this catalog staple is collected as a representative piece of Spratling's later link jewelry.
