Hector Aguilar founded the Taller Borda in Taxco in the late 1930s and over the following decades refined a vocabulary of clean-edged, fully resolved forms. By the mid-1950s, the wide link bracelet had become a recurring vehicle for this discipline: substantial elements joined to move freely while presenting, in aggregate, an unbroken surface of stepped geometry.
