Design 5240 bracelet

Design 5240 belongs to the numbered system Margot de Taxco used to run her enamel catalogue, the number designating the model in the workshop's inventory (Morrill, pdf p. 15). The number was her organizing principle, each design held as a repeatable template.

The color is sealed into the silver by the champlevé enamel she perfected into one of her major lines, first initiated at Los Castillo by Reveriano Castillo and Miguel Melendez (Morrill, p. 166). Each design carried written instructions fixing the dies and the enamel colors (Morrill, p. 168).
