A necklace numbered 5384 belongs to the running inventory of designs Margot de Taxco's workshop kept by number, the mark on the back designating the model and generally rising over the life of her production (Morrill, pp. 15, 168).
Every design her company made was Margot's own, documented in a written book that set out the dies, the color choices for the enamel, and the assembly, her drawings guiding the enamelers (Morrill, p. 168). The necklace is enamel on sterling, made to that specification.
Intact examples carry the saturated color of her enamel jewelry.
