An eagle motif paired with malachite and lapis inlay gives this bracelet both its subject and its color, joining the bird imagery of Los Castillo with the colored-stone mosaic for which the workshop was known. The green and blue stone set against the eagle form makes the band a layered design (Morrill, p. 206).
The Castillo brothers founded their Taxco workshop in 1939, combining Mexican iconography with native stone across their jewelry. An eagle bracelet with malachite inlay reaches the market only occasionally.
