Design 5210 sits within the numbered inventory through which Margot de Taxco organized her enamel work, the number identifying the model in the workshop's records (Morrill, pdf p. 15). The discipline of the numbering matched the discipline of her production.
The enamel-on-silver is the champlevé technique she perfected into one of her major lines, first initiated at Los Castillo by Reveriano Castillo and Miguel Melendez (Morrill, p. 166). She wrote out instructions for each design, including the colors to be used in the enameling (Morrill, p. 168).
