The Six Spheres necklace is one of Aguilar’s strongest necklace designs: large, rhythmic, and architecturally articulated. The repeated links, engraved crosses, and silver balls create a severe but wearable modernist object. It matters because it shows Aguilar at his most sculptural without relying on figuration or gemstone color. Gallery 925 notes the design dates to 1940 and is illustrated in Penny Morrill’s Silver Masters of Mexico, making it one of the more literature-supported Aguilar forms.
