This necklace gives MATL's folk-natural vocabulary the scale of a full ceremonial collar. Hammered swirl panels set with turquoise build a bright, rhythmic neckline, while nine articulated fish pendants move below it in repoussé silver. The result is not a small charm motif enlarged, but a complete composition in which repeated spirals, stones, and fish forms carry the whole object.
The fish motif is securely within Matilde Poulat's recorded work. Morrill's Dreaming in Silver illustrates a Matilde Poulat fish necklace in silver and turquoise dated 1945, placing this form within the mature MATL repertoire rather than as an isolated design. Here the eleven panels and dangling fish give that vocabulary a particularly emphatic fringe structure, with turquoise used both as color and as punctuation across the silver surface.
The submitted reverse image shows a block MATL mark on one fish, and the supplied listing text records the mark as MATL 925 on the backs of two fish. Hougart records MATL 925 among the early Matilde Poulat mark family used from 1934 to 1948, consistent with the necklace's early workshop attribution.
